Instrumentals: Make Music with Living Instruments
Instrumentals is a free music mixer game where every critter is an instrument. A crab is a drum kit, a capybara is an upright bass, a dog is a piano, a goose plays the trombone and a cat hums into a kazoo. Drag a critter onto one of seven spots on the bandstand and it joins the song with its own loop, always right on the beat, so whatever you build sounds good. Stack beats, bass, melodies and voices, then tap any critter to mute it, play it solo or send it off stage. Some line-ups hide a secret combo: put the right critters together and the whole stage turns into a little animated music video with an extra part in the song. Find the Midnight combo and the band flips into night mode, where every critter becomes a spooky version of itself with its own darker sound. Want a goal? Take a gig. A client asks for a certain kind of song, you record a 16-second take, and a jury of three pets gives marks and stars. Your track sells for coins, which unlock new critters and new stages like a beach and a rooftop. Every mix gets a short code, so you can save your favourites and send a friend the exact same band. All music is original and made for the game, and it runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.

FAQ
- Is Instrumentals free?
- Yes. It runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, with nothing to download.
- How do I find secret combos?
- Put the right group of critters on stage together, all of them unmuted. Open the combo book for a hint for each combo; you can reveal one member at a time by watching an ad.
- How do I unlock night mode?
- Find the Midnight combo. After that, the sun and moon button at the top switches the whole band between day and night at any time.
- How does the jury score my track?
- Three judges give marks from 1 to 10. One likes beats and bass, one likes melodies and voices, and one loves variety, secret combos and changes during the take. The total gives up to three stars and the sale price.
- How do I share a mix?
- Tap the disk button to see your mix code. Share it, and your friend can type it with ENTER CODE or paste it to hear the same band.
- Is my progress saved?
