Kek Cards: Crazy Eights with Cats, Dogs and a KEK! Button

Kek Cards is a family shedding card game in the crazy eights style, made for phones. Be the first to empty your hand by matching the top card by suit or by number. Our deck has four pet suits, Fish, Bone, Yarn and Paw, plus funny action cards played by our Pets of War crew: a corgi with a rolled-up newspaper bonks the next player out of a turn, a grinning cat spins the turn order around, a sphynx in goggles zooms a rainbow across the table and makes someone take two, and a big fluffy cat coughs up a Hairball +4. Crazy 8s are wild, so you pick the next suit. Down to two cards? Tap the big KEK! button before your last card is alone, or Puss the cat flies in and tosses you two more. The bots forget too, and when they do a CATCH! button pops up: tap it before a sharp bot does. Got hit by a +2 or +4? Stack another one to pass it on, or play a Spin and send the whole pile straight back. Play a twelve-stop Kek Tour against bots with their own personalities and speech bubbles, set up a quick match against one to three bots, or pass one phone around between two to four players behind a privacy curtain. House rules such as 7-0 hand swaps can be switched on, and matches run to 100, 200 or 500 points. Win fish to unlock new card backs, and come back for the Daily Deal, the same shuffle for everyone.

FAQ

Is Kek Cards free?
Yes. It runs in your browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install. Your progress is saved on your device.
What does the KEK! button do?
When you are down to two cards, tap KEK! before your last card is left alone. If you forget, Puss the cat tosses you two cards. Bots can forget too: tap CATCH! in time and they take two.
Can I play with friends on one phone?
Yes. Pass and Play supports 2 to 4 players. Between turns a curtain hides the cards and tells you who gets the phone next.
What are the house rules?
Stacking lets you answer a +2 with a +2, or any draw card with a +4. Spin bounce sends a stack back to the player who started it. The 7-0 rule swaps hands on a 7 and passes all hands along on a 0. Draw until you can play keeps you drawing until a card fits. Turn them on or off before a match.
How do points work?
The player who empties their hand scores the cards still held by everyone else: numbers count their face value, Bonk, Spin and +2 are worth 20, Crazy 8 and +4 are worth 50.
What is the Daily Deal?
One round against three bots with the same shuffle for every player that day. Win it in as few turns as you can, keep your streak and share your result.
